In meiner Arbeit als Bildgestalter suche ich die Nähe zu den Figuren und das, was zwischen ihnen passiert. Ich denke visuell oft aus dem Dokumentarischen heraus und arbeite mit realen Räumen und natürlichen Situationen.

Die Kamera soll unterstützen, nicht dominieren – Reduktion und Zurückhaltung sind mir wichtig. Bildgestaltung verstehe ich als kollaborativen Prozess, der auf Vertrauen und Zeit basiert.

Ich arbeite als Bildgestalter für internationale Spiel- und Dokumentarfilm-produktionen sowie für Musikvideos und Commercials. Meine Filme waren auf zahlreichen internationalen Festivals zu sehen und wurden mehrfach ausgezeichnet.

Während meines Studiums entstand gemeinsam mit Barbara Kronenberg mein Diplomfilm „Die Ballade von Ella Plummhoff“. Mein Kino-Debüt „Freiheit“ (Regie: Jan Speckenbach) feierte Premiere auf dem 70. Locarno Film Festival und wurde später für den Grimme-Preis nominiert.

Für ARTE realisierte ich zusammen mit Anja Reiss mehrere dokumentarische Formate, darunter „Schweiz bei Nacht“ und „Die Flösser vom Ägerisee“. Mit dem Dokumentarfilm „Children of Spring“ (Regie: Dušan Šolomun) war ich auf internationalen Festivals wie Beldocs, Ischia und dem FilmFestival Cottbus vertreten.

Die ZDFneo-Serie „Doppelhaushälfte“ (Iconoclast) war 2022 und 2023 für den Deutschen Fernsehpreis nominiert. In diesem Rahmen arbeitete ich unter anderem mit Barbara Kronenberg, Milan Peschel, Marijana Verhoef, Sinje Köhler und Dennis Schanz zusammen.

In my work as a cinematographer, I look for closeness to the characters and what unfolds between them. I often approach visual storytelling from a documentary perspective, working with real spaces and natural situations.
The camera should support the story, not dominate it — reduction and restraint are essential to my work.I see cinematography as a collaborative process built on trust and time.

I work as a cinematographer on international fiction and documentary film productions, as well as music videos and commercials. My work has been screened at numerous international festivals and received multiple awards.

During my studies, I completed my graduation film “The Ballad of Ella Plummhoff” together with Barbara Kronenberg. My feature film debut “Freedom” (directed by Jan Speckenbach) premiered at the 70th Locarno Film Festival and was later nominated for the Grimme Award.

For ARTE, I collaborated with Anja Reiss on several documentary formats, including “Switzerland by Night” and “The Raftsmen of Lake Ägeri”. The documentary “Children of Spring” (directed by Dušan Šolomun) was screened at international festivals such as Beldocs, Ischia, and the Cottbus Film Festival.

The ZDFneo series “Doppelhaushälfte” (Iconoclast) was nominated for the German Television Award in both 2022 and 2023. On the project, I worked alongside Barbara Kronenberg, Milan Peschel, Marijana Verhoef, Sinje Köhler, and Dennis Schanz.
